A Dhaka court has sent to jail four university students, who have been missing since December 29, after they were produced before it in connection with a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Baki Billah passed the order on Wednesday after Sub-Inspector Md Zillur Rahman, also the case investigation officer, produced them before the court, reports UNB.

The four were Asian University’s Bangla Department student Abu Khaled Mohammad Jabed, 25; Stamford University’s English Department student Borhan Uddin, 26; Manarat University’s Pharmacy Department student Rezaul Khalek, 24; and Syed Mominul Hasan, 27, a former student of Unani Ayurvedic Medical College.
Their lawyer SM Kabiruzzaman said that police had picked the students up on December 29 from a bus in Farmgate area of the city when they were on their way home at Mirpur 1.
The students’ families had held a press conference on Tuesday at the Crime Reporters' Association Bangladesh at Segunbaghicha, demanding their safe return.
