Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mainul Hasan Yusuf passed the order on Wednesday, when police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.
Gaibandha court police Assistant Sub-Inspector Shah Alam confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
The former vice president of Jatiya Party was arrested from his residence in Bogra on Tuesday and later brought to Gaibandha.
Liton was shot at his village home in Sundarganj’s Masterpara on December 31 last year. He died at a hospital after several hours.
