A Dhaka court will hear a remand plea on Tuesday against two people accused in a case over the death of Dhaka Tribune employee Nazim Uddin in a deadly traffic accident.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Delwar Hossain fixed the date on Sunday after police produced them before the court with a seven-day remand pea.
Sub-inspector Iqbal Hossain of Jatrabari police station filed the remand petition.
Nazim, a senior executive of the Dhaka Tribune’s advertisement department, was killed on Thursday as a bus hit his motorcycle and ran over him on the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in Jatrabari while it was trying to overtake another bus.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Police later impounded two buses involved in the incident that led to Nazim's death. One each of the staff of both buses were detained.
