The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has cleared the way for the reinvestigation of money laundering charges against BNP leader M Morshed Khan, his wife Nasrin Khan, and son Foysal Morshed Khan.
A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Thursday passed the order, upholding a directive issued by the High Court on November 9, 2016.
"Now there is no legal bar to reinvestigating the case," said Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan.
The ACC filed the case against the trio in 2013 and their bank accounts were seized by the court till 2015.
The corruption watchdog in 2015 gave its final report in the case and the court acquitted the accused from the charges.
The commission later submitted two petitions, pleading to revive the case proceedings and reinvestigate the case.
