A Joypurhat court on Tuesday ordered a judicial enquiry against the officer-in-charge (OC) of Akkelpur police station over an attempted rape case filed against him.
District Children and Women Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Parveen Momtaz passed the order taking cognisance of the complaint, said Public Prosecutor Nripendranath Mondal.
The court also fixed April 25 for placing the probe report before it, he added.
The victim, a housewife, of Akkelpur municipality filed the case with the court accusing OC Sirajul Islam of attempting to violate her at his office around 10am on Monday when she went there to know the update of a case filed against her earlier.
She also alleged that Sirajul had been trying to seduce her providing favour in her case, but she denied those. And on Monday he tried to violate her forcefully.
The OC, however, has denied the allegation, saying he knows nothing about it.
