CU assistant proctor, BCL president accused in Diaz death case

Diaz's mother Jaheda Amin filed the case with the court of Chittagong Judicial Magistrate Shiplo Kumar Dey on Thursday, in which some unnamed people were made accused as well. Diaz's elder sister advocate Jobaida Sarwar Nisha disclosed the names of the duo to the Dhaka Tribune. However the identities of the other eight could not be known immediately. Police recovered the hanging body of Diaz, assistant secretary of Chittagong central BCL and also joint secretary of BCL Chittagong University unit, from his room on the campus in Sunday night. Quoting the autopsy report Chittagong Superintendent of Police Nure Alam Mina on Wednesday said: “We have received the autopsy report. It is a suicide case.” Diaz's family and the BCL activists loyal to him, however, termed the death a planned murder.
