The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Integrated District Office in Khulna has requested the personal records of 14 officials, including former vice-chancellor (VC) of Khulna University (KU) Professor Dr Mahmud Hossain.

A four-member ACC team has launched an investigation into allegations of extensive financial corruption and recruitment irregularities.

The officials have been asked to submit their documents to the ACC office by March 5.

On Wednesday, in a letter signed by the leader of the investigative team, Deputy Director Abdul Wadud, the current vice-chancellor was asked to provide copies of Khulna University's recruitment and promotion regulations for officers and employees.

The letter also requested copies of job application forms, appointment letters, joining letters, promotion orders, and national identity cards of the 14 officials, including the former VC.

Additionally, authenticated copies of documents related to the recruitment and promotion of officials and employees during the tenure of former vice-chancellors Fayequzzaman and Professor Dr Mahmud Hossain were requested.

This includes lists of recruited and promoted personnel, lists of recruitment board members, minutes of recruitment committee meetings, and recruitment and promotion-related files.

The ACC also sought audit reports conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry during Dr Mahmud Hossain’s tenure as VC, along with responses to any audit objections raised during that period.
