A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on NRBC Bank Chairman SM Parvez Tamal.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday.
Assistant Director Mustafizur Rahman submitted the petition on behalf of the ACC.
The petition said that SM Parvez Tamal, as the chairman of NRBC Bank PLC, was involved in stock market manipulation and other financial crimes in collusion with others, earning money through illegal means and engaging in money laundering.
There is information that he is attempting to leave the country.
Therefore, a travel ban is necessary.
