A writ has been filed with the High Court seeking its order upon concerned government offices to conduct judicial investigations against a journalist for his alleged involvement in corruption.
Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon filed the writ petition on Monday and told the media that the High Court bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice KM Zahirul Hoque may hear the writ petition during the ongoing week.
The unnamed journalist, a senior reporter at Jamuna Television, has been accused of corruption in purchasing books for setting up Bangabandhu Corner at all government primary schools.
The petitioner also asked to issue a rule why the government's inaction against those who are involved with corruption in purchasing books for setting up Bangabandhu Corner at all government primary schools should not be declared illegal.
The secretary of the ministry of Liberation War, the secretary of the ministry of primary and mass education, the director general of the department of primary and mass education, Journey Multimedia Limited, Swadhika Publishers, the alleged Journalist and his wife were made respondents to the writ petition.
