ACC sues the chairman and the director of Invent Clothing

The two accused embezzled Tk7.3 crore from AB Bank's Khatunganj branch

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against the chairman and  the director of Invent Clothing Limited, for embezzling over Tk7 crore from AB Bank's Khatunganj branch.

ACC Assistant Director Fakhrul Islam filed the case with ACC’s Chittagong integrated district office on Tuesday.

ACC Director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

The accused are Invent Clothing Limited Chairman Didarul Islam, and Director Jebunnesa.

According to the case statement, the two accused embezzled Tk7.3 crore from AB Bank's Khatunganj branch by selling garments in the open market instead of exporting them as per the export LC, which is currently valued at Tk11.76 crore including interest. 

The accused committed a punishable offense under Section 420/409/109 of the Penal Code and Section 4(2) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
