The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sought various information and records from the managing director of Hotel Super Star Ltd and the director of Mugda 500-bed General Hospital, including the accommodation and meals of doctors, nurses and other staff engaged in treating Covid-19 patients.
A letter signed by ACC Director Mir Mohammad Zainul Abedin Shibli was issued in this regard on Monday.
The letter said information and records were sought in the interest of a proper investigation into allegations of embezzlement of government funds through various irregularities and corruption, including collusion with the acting director and principal of Mugda Medical College Hospital and others.
Information sought from Mugda Hospital include allocation for 500-bed Mugda General Hospital for accommodation, transportation and incidental expenses of doctors, nurses and other staff engaged in the medical care of Covid-19 patients.
The ACC requested the authorities to provide the information by Aug 9. This urgent letter has been sent through special carriers.
Records have already been collected from Hotel 71 on the same allegation.
