The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has appointed an investigator to further investigate the recent allegations brought against JKG Health Care Chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury.

The commission appointed Deputy Director Selina Akter Moni as the investigation officer regarding the matter on Thursday.

ACC Director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

The allegations against Sabrina include providing fake Covid-19 certificates and amassing Tk8 crore illegally.

A Dhaka court placed Sabrina on a three-day remand on Monday.

Meanwhile, the national anti-graft commission sent four separate letters to managing directors of the Bank Asia, Dutch-Bangla Bank, Padma Bank, and NRB Bank seeking the bank documents and account information of Regent Hospital owner Md Shahed alias Shahed Karim.

ACC Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique sent the letters to the banks on Thursday.

On July 13, the commission formed a three-member committee led by ACC Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique to carry out a detailed probe into the allegations against Shahed.

The other members of the committee are Neyamul Hasan Gazi, Sheikh Mohammad, and Golam Mawla.

On Tuesday, ACC sent letters to nine different organizations, including Bangladesh Bank (BB) and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), seeking financial information and other documents related to Shahed.
