The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved five cases against Farmers Bank Limited (FBL) audit committee's former chairman Mahbubul Haque Chisty and his four family members for amassing illegal wealth.
The accused allegedly embezzled and amassed Tk135.4489 crore by misusing their power.
ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said the anti-graft body approved the cases during its regular meeting on Wednesday.
On the same day, ACC Assistant Director Mohammad Foisal, also the investigating officer of the graft case, submitted the final report to the commission.
"We will file the five separate cases on Thursday," said ACC official Mohammad Foisal.
Besides Mahbubul Haque Chisty, the other accused are his wife Ruzi Chisty, daughter Rimi Chisty, son Rashedul Haque Chisty, and daughter-in-law Farhana Ahmed.
