The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday approved chargesheets against former BNP lawmaker Mosaddek Ali Falu and his wife on charges of acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income and concealing asset information.
ACC Deputy Director Md Jahangir Alam filed the case against Falu, also the chairman and managing director of private television channel NTV, with Ramna police station on May 15, 2017.
ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said Falu was accused of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk17.86 crore, reports UNB.
According to case documents, the BNP leader concealed information about his wealth in the asset details submitted to ACC.
The commission also filed a case in the same year against Falu's wife, Mahbuba Sultana, for allegedly acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income. She concealed information of wealth worth around Tk4 crores, according to the case.
