East West University (EWU) celebrated Pohela Boishakh 1433, the Bengali New Year, with day-long festivities at its Aftabnagar campus in Dhaka on April 14, 2026.

The program featured a colorful rally, cultural performances, and a traditional Boishakhi Mela. The celebrations began with a rally organized by the East West University Club for Performing Arts (EWUCPA), followed by choral songs and a play performed by the cultural organization Chhayanaut.

Popular band Chirkutt later took the stage, performing several of their hit songs, while EWUCPA students presented dance and musical performances in the afternoon. The event concluded with a performance by band Meghdol.

The event was attended by Professor D  Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of the Board of Trustees; Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, vice chancellor; Professor Dr. Ashik Mosaddik, pro-vice chancellor; Air Commodore (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, treasurer, along with deans, chairpersons, faculty members, officials, and thousands of students.
