Update : 27 Apr 2015, 12:01 PM

Resident students of a hostel of Eden Mohila College have been evacuated after a number of cracks developed at the building on Monday, two-day after the country was jolted by a 7.5 quake.

Principal of the college Professor Husne Ara told the Dhaka Tribune that a number of cracks were noticed on the second, third and seventh floors of the 11-storied Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Hostel building on Monday.

"All the students of the dorm were moved to safer places," she said.

She said the college authorities have already contacted experts for examining the cracks.

After the massive 7.9 quake that killed more than 3,000 people in Nepal, two tremors have hit Bangladesh on Saturday and Sunday.

The magnitude of Sunday's quake was 6.7 in Richter scale and the epicentre was 17km South of Kodari, Nepal, according to USGS.
