The government has declared general holiday on Tuesday, the polls day in Dhaka North and Dhaka South and Chittagong City Corporations, according to an official handout.
The day will be a general holiday for all government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices, and government and non-government educational institutions in Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka South City Corporation and Chittagong City Corporation so that their officials and employees can exercise their voting rights, it says.
However, if there is any public examination on that day, the holiday will not be applicable for the examination centres and the teachers and staff concerned, it added.
