BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has started staging a drama before the people of the country as the Dhaka and Chittagong city polls approach, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said yesterday.
“I visited the spot, talked to the businessmen, witnesses and police officials in Karwan Bazar. The businessmen were angry with her because a large number of buses and trucks were damaged in the area during the BNP-enforced hartals. That was why they were showing her black flags.”
State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal claimed that Khaleda Zia’s companions instigated the attack and held her personal security force responsible.
“The upcoming city polls carry the same value as mid-term polls. So there are no chances of failure here.”
Awami League-backed mayoral candidate of Dhaka South City Corporation Sayeed Khokon has said the upcoming city corporation polls are as important as mid-term national polls.
