A total of 337 Bangladeshi nationals who were evacuated from Yemen by Indian passenger ship have reached Dhaka.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam told the Dhaka Tribune the 337 Bangladeshis arrived home by two flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines around 4:30am and 5am on Sunday.
The state minister received the Bangladeshis at the airport.
They were flown back to Dhaka from India’s Kerala where they reached on Friday by the Indian passenger ships that started from Djibouti, Yemen on April 12.
So far, India has evacuated nearly 500 Bangladeshis from the war-ravaged Yemen. At least 30 of them reached home earlier. The remaining will be flown back to the country from Djibouti on April 20 by a special Biman Bangladesh airlines flight, according to the foreign ministry.
