IBA wins HSBC Business Case Competition 2015

Three teams from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, won the HSBC Business Case Competition 2015 award in the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories.  

In the Bangladesh finale, the finalists received a business case and later presented their solutions and recommendations to a panel of judges, said a release yesterday.

Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh, Francois de Maricourt, handed over the trophies to the winning teams.

The winning team in the Gold category was from the institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka; the winners are Abanti Shreya Saha, Mustafa Sian Hossain, Parashar Saha and Sabira Mehrin Saba.

The Silver winners are Sajeed Alam, Ishmam Ahmed Chowdhury, Md Ayman Sadiq and Ghazi Kamrul Abedin, while the Bronze category winners are Sayem Faruk, Nandita Hore, Zeeshan Ahmed and M Samiul Haque. 

The Gold, Silver and Bronze teams will receive a team development fund of Tk75,000, Tk50,000, and Tk35,000 respectively.

In addition, the Gold category team will also get the opportunity to compete in the regional grand finale in Hong Kong with other Gold teams from more than 15 Asian countries.

“The Business Case Competition is an important part of HSBC’s sustainability initiatives aimed at building a better community,” said HSBC Bangladesh CEO Francois de Maricourt. 

“The young community of Bangladesh has tremendous potential, and we are proud to support them in their development endeavours,” he said.

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Robert W Gibson, were present at the programme as the chief guest. 

“HSBC Bangladesh – IBA Business Case Competition 2015” was open to all undergraduate business school students of Bangladesh to participate.

It is a regional competition designed to encourage young talent to unleash the power of their potential.
