I don’t like my boyfriend’s thirst for attention. Unlike me, he has always been quite the social butterfly. He likes meeting new people, and he absolutely loves being the centre of attention. Needless to say, he receives lots of it from his classmates, and while he might not necessarily be at fault, I just don’t like it. How do I explain it to him without coming off as an insecure girlfriend?
I do not think there is much you can do about it: this is who he is. His personality is effervescent, spontaneous and this is probably why you fell in love with him. If, however you think he is flirting with others, tell him it makes you feel uncomfortable. If he does not moderate his enthusiasm, either you put your heart at rest and accept him as he is, or else break up, because in the end he would also be miserable not being able to be who he is in order to fit with your needs.
