8, including 4 of a family, killed in road accident

Eight people, including four members of a family, have been killed in a collision among two buses and a private car in Bathuli bus stand area at Dhamrai.

The deceased are Monowar Hossain, 32, his wife Farida Begum, 26, her two-year-old son Towhid and four-year-old son Toha, car driver Faruk, 29, Dilara Begum, her daughters Shami Aktar, and Ankita.

Dhamrai police OC Firoz Talukder confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the death of four people.

He said a Dhaka-bound bus of Asha Paribahan collided with an Aricha-bound bus of Shohag Paribahan in Bathuli area around 2pm on Saturday. At that time, a private car crushed with the bus of Shohag Paribahan that left four dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

The injured were admitted to Manikganj sadar hospital where four others succumbed to their injuries, said Manikganj Bolora highway police OC Mizanur Rahman.
