6 killed in separate road accidents

Six people have been killed in separate raod accidents in Bogra and Sirajganj districts.

Of the deceased, three were identified as Momtaj Uddin, 45, his wife Sefali Khatun, 35, and Omar Faruk, 20.

In Bogra, three people were killed and another was injured in two separate road accidents in Dhunat and sadar upazila on Friday morning.

Gaziur Rahman, assistant superintendent of police in Bogra, said the accident occurred at about 9 am when a brick-laden truck hit a motorcycle in Sonahata area on the Dhunat-Bogra road, leaving motorcycle rider Momtaj and his wife Sefali dead on the spot.

Another accident took place around 9:30am when a bus hit a motorcyclist in Khandar area of Bogra town, leaving him dead on the spot.

In Sirajganj, three persons, including a women, were killed and nine others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Baniagati area of Bangabandhu Bridge western connecting road early Saturday.

Police said both the vehicles overturned and skidded off the road, leaving two passengers of the bus dead on the spot and injuring 10 others, BSS reported.

Police rescued the injured with the help of locals and sent them to Sirajgang Sadar Hospital. Of the injured, another succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
