A housewife has been hacked to death by miscreants in Bhaoraid area under Gazipur sadar upazila.
Husband and daughter of the woman were also injured in the attack. They were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The deceased is Khorsheda Begum, 48, wife of Anwar Hossain. The body was sent to Tajudddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Quoting locals, Joydebpur police Sub-Inspector Sujayet Hossain said miscreants entered the house and stabbed the three while they were sleeping on Friday midnight.
"Then the miscreants locked the door and fled the scene," he said.
Hearing their groans, neighbours unlocked the room and found Khorsheda dead and two others injured. Then they took them injured to hospital.
