Two suspected robbers have been beaten to death by an angry mob after they robbed a house in Hindupara village at Varkurat Bottola in Savar early Saturday.
The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
Quoting the locals, Savar model police OC Motaleb Miah said: "A gang of 10 to 12 robbers swooped on the house of one Sunil and robbed money along with other valuable things early Saturday."
He said the robbers also stabbed Sunil when he tried to shout and tried to flee.
Hearing the victim’s scream, locals went to the spot and chased the robbers.
“They managed to capture two of them and beat them up severely, leaving the duo dead on the spot.”
Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy, added the OC.
