A math question for Singapore school students has gone viral on Facebook after a TV presenter posted it on his page.
The post by Singaporean TV presenter Kenneth Kong has been shared more than 5,000 times on Facebook.
According to Singapore news agency Mothership.sg the question was part of a Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad test paper, which is aimed at the best 40% of students.
In the math question, Cheryl was the mysterious girl who wanted to know her birthday from her two friends – Albert and Bernard. She gave them 10 possible dates, then told Albert the month, and Bernard the day.
In his post, Kenneth wrote that the question was sent to him by a friend whose Primary 5 niece had asked him for help with an assignment last week.
The question was as follows:
So when is Cheryl’s birthday? Can you solve it?
