A contingent of 180 police personnel have left for Ivory Coast in two separate days – on Sunday night and on April 6 – to rotate the UN peacekeeping mission in the country. Of them, 80 members of police left the capital on April 6 night by a chartered flight of UN and 100 other members left Dhaka on Sunday night.
Superintendents of Police Md Masudur Rahman led the contingent, a Police Headquarters press statement said yesterday.
Some 1,376 members of Bangladesh Police are currently engaged in peacekeeping missions in different countries including Congo, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Mali, Liberia, Darfur, Somalia and South Sudan.
