Five people have been killed and 10 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Postkamuri Chorpara area under Mirzapur upazila in Tangail.
Among the deceased, one is identified as Ashraful, hailed from Bogra.
All the deceased are from Bogra and Naogaon, says police.
Gorai highway police OC Md Humayun Kabir said: “The accident occurred as a Dhaka-bound bus hit a potato laden truck stationed inthe area around 3:30am Sunday. Three of the passengers of the bus died on the spot.”
Of the injured, two died when taken to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital Medical College, the official added.
