Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed as the Indian Border Security Force opened fire on them on Benapole frontier in yesterday.
The deceased are Shanto, 45, son of Mohammad Hanif, and Aku Miah, 29, son of Anisur Rahman, from Putkhali area of Benapole.
Acknowledging the killing, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 26 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain said the BSF members opened fire on a group of some five-six cattle traders near Putkhali border area before dawn while they were returning from India, leaving Aku and Shanto injured.
Later, Shanto died on the way to hospital around 7am while Aku succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Nabharon Health Complex at 8am.
