Three suspected robbers have been lynched in Rajapur village under sadar upazila in Meherpur.
The deceased are Faruk, 36, Rafique, 40, and Sharifur, 40. Faruk and Rafique are from Chokshyamnagar village while Sharifur is from Jugidra village.
Meherpur Additional Police Super Ajbahar Ali Sheikh confirmed about the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
A group of seven to eight people entered the village on Wednesday night. They beat up a guard when he tried to stop them from entering the village, the police official said.
The miscreants exploded crude bombs when the locals surrounded them.
Locals caught and beat three of them, killing one on the spot. The other two succumbed to their injuries when police took them to hospital.
