Cost of two packages of Dhaka-Chittagong 4-lane deceased

A revised three separate proposals of the Road Communication and Highways Division for Dhaka-Chittagong four-lane project has approved the cabinet committee on public purchase to reduce the cost of two packages and increase one.

Cabinet committee, in a meeting presided over by Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Wednesday, on public purchase gave its consent regarding revised cost of the three packages.

After the meeting Additional Secretary of Cabinet Division Mustafizur Rahman told this to the reporters.

The cost of packages 7 was increased while the costs of the packages 3 and 6 were deceased, he said.

According to the proposal, the cost was decreased to Tk171.4 crore from projected cost of Tk188.73 crore for construction of 21-km Comilla bypass road under the package 3.

Under the package 6, the cost of the package was reduced to Tk135.62 crore from the projected cost of Tk148.4 crore for construction of 19.916-km road from Dhonghat to Mirasoria. 

Meanwhile, the revised proposal raised the project cost by 36.14% due to additional work under Project Package No 7.

The project package will now cost Tk169.75 crore to construct around 20-km highway stretching from Mohipal Bazar to Dhughat Bridge.
