Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday ordered authorities concerned with the Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover project to repair potholes on roads near the site area within 15 days.

The minister made the directive at an urgent meeting held at the Secretariat yesterday following which he briefed reporters about the meeting’s outcome.

“If there is any fault in carrying out the directives, necessary actions will be taken against the individuals responsible.”

Obaidul Quader said the commuters have been suffering because of the potholes in the area for a long period. “And such a situation persisted because of the lack of coordination among different agencies working there,” he added.

The minister also pointed out that the Dhaka Wasa have not been working at its full capacity as water logging at different parts of the city have already created huge sufferings for the people.

He said: “Commuters think that the city roads are under my jurisdiction, but it is actually maintained by the city corporations. However, the city dwellers blame me for the sufferings.”
