Nestle Bangladesh celebrates World Health Day

In line with the theme “Food Safety”, Nestle Bangladesh celebrated World Health Day 2015 yesterday with schoolchildren in Dhaka.

Two groups of Nestle Bangladesh employees went to Maer Achol, a school for underprivileged children at Mirpur, and another school at Nayanagar area to visit the children and teach them about nutrition, health and hygiene.

The school students responded with enthusiasm when they learned about the importance of a healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and hygiene.

Nestle Bangladesh also conducted a session with its employees at the head office at Ninakabbo, Dhaka, to raise awareness on food safety and health issues. They also stressed the importance of World Health Day and the theme of the year at the discussion.

World Health Day is celebrated around the world every year on April 7 under the leadership of World Health Organisation to draw mass attention towards the importance of global health.

This year’s theme for the occasion, Food Safety, is of high relevance to people around the world, as well as multiple stakeholders, including governments, civil societies, private sectors and intergovernmental agencies.
