The budget for the current fiscal year would be revised down by 5% to Tk2,38,000 crore from the actual allocation of Tk2,50,506 crore.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith disclosed the figure at a pre-budget discussion in Dhaka yesterday. Earlier, the government had revised down the Annual Development Programme (ADP) to Tk75,000 crore from the allocation of Tk80,315 crore for the fiscal 2014-15.
“I have finalised the revised budget,” Muhith told the discussion on the budget for the next fiscal year at the NEC conference room. The revised budget will, however, have to be approved by the National Economic Council before the new national budget to be placed in parliament early June.
