Members of Border Guard Bangladesh have detained a person with 21 gold bars weighing around 2.5kg from Benapole border in Jessore.
The detainee is Nurul Islam, son of Babor Ali of Patipara village under Sharsha upazila and a employee of C&F Agent named Rahman and Sons.
BGB 26 Battalion Captain Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain said: “Acting on a tip off, we detained Nurul from ICP camp and recovered the gold bars after searching his shoes.”
He said the estimated price of the gold bars is Tk1 core.
