A woman was killed and three others went missing as a boat capsized in the Jamuna River at Islampur upazila of Jamalpur on Saturday evening.
The deceased was identified Zahura Begum, hailed from Barul Char of the upazila, said Md Sahabuddin Khan, deputy commissioner of Jamalpur.
The accident took place when the boat with 4 passengers capsized in the river during Saturday’s nor’wester.
Three people – Molla Bepari, Mangal Bepari and Rashidul Bepari – are still missing.
Divers and local people were still continuing rescue operation.
Besides, the power supply resumed partially in the district after 20 hours of its cut off due to storm that lashed the district along with other northern districts.
