The death toll from trawler capsize in Buriganga river has risen to 11 with the recovery of three more bodies on Friday evening.
Offier-in-Charge of South Keraniganj police station Jamal Uddin Mir said the divers team of fire service recovered one body from the river around 11:30am while two others were recovered at 7pm.
Eight people were killed when a trawler on the Buriganga river sank with 50 to 60 passengers on board after colliding with a cargo vessel near West Pangaon in Keraniganj on Wednesday night.
Deputy Commissioner Zillar Rahman handed over Tk20,000 to each deceased’s family.
