Three members of a family have died and three others fallen sick after taking bread in Badam Mia area under Trishal upazila in Mymensingh.
The deceased were identified as Bithi, Dilruba and Nazma.
Trishal OC Moniruzzaman said: “Six members of one Abul Kalam's family fell unconscious after eating bread on Thursday morning."
"Kalam brought flour from a nearby shop of Saiful Islam 4/5 days ago. His family made bread from the flour in the morning. After eating the bread, six members of the family fell sick, " said the police official.
Later, the locals took them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where three of them died.
The OC said three other members of the family were in critical condition.
"Food poisoning might be the cause of the incident," said Dr Azizul Haq, head of department of children of MMCH.
Police arrested shop owner Saiful Islam, the OC added.
