The government will recruit 50,000 more police personnel soon to further strengthen the capacity of law enforcement agencies in the country.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, in absence of State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzamn Khan, said this in the Jatiya Sangsad on Tuesday, reports BSS.
He was replying to a scripted question of Md Solim Uddin Tarofdar from Naogaon 3 constituency during the question and answer session in the House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Tofail said the plainclothes detectives remain vigil to maintain law and order throughout the country.
The members of law enforcement agencies are working relentlessly to maintain law and order side by side ensuring safety and security of the people and their property, he added.
