Railways Minister's brother found dead 

Railways Minister Mujibul Hoque's elder brother has been found dead at Dhanmondi Lake in the capital. Police recovered the body of former secretary ABM Abdul Latif from the lake adjacent to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) gate in Dhanmondi 2 around 12 noon Sunday.

Australia need 184 to become world champion 

One of the co-hosts Australia need to score 184 from 50 overs to win the title for the fifth time as the other co-hosts New Zealand were bundled out for just 183 in the final match of ICC world cup 2015 at Merlbourne cricket ground on Sunday.

Sayeed Khokon submits nomination form 

Sayeed Khokon, son of first elected mayor of Dhaka city Mohoammad Hanif, has submitted his nomination paper to contest in the upcoming Dhaka South City Corporation elections. The ruling party leader submitted the form at the Returning Officer's office around 12:30pm Sunday.

Manjur submits nomination form 

Outgoing mayor of Chittagong City Corporation M Manjur Alam has submitted his nomination form. Divisional Election Commissioner Abdul Baten told the Dhaka Tribune that Manjur submitted the nomination paper at the returning officer's office around 10am on Sunday.

2 die in Satkhira wall collapse 

Two persons have been killed when a wall of a primary school building collapsed on them during a programme organised to celebrate the Independence Day in Satkhira district. The deceased are Saddam Hossain, 25, son of Shafiqur Rahman of Baliadanga village; and Faridul Islam, 18, son of Karim Gazi of Sekendara village.

Thunderstorm kills 1 in Sunamganj 

A person has been killed in a thunderstorm at South Ura village in Modhonogor of Sunamganj district. Ali Hossain, 18 died when he took his cattle to a field around 9am on Sunday. He was the son of Ramjan Ali.
