Two people have been killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a tempo and a human hauler in Barkandi area under Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district.
The deceased are tempo driver Dony Hossain and Bipul Chandra.
Locals said the accident took place on Panchbibi-Barkandi road around 8pm Saturday.
Panchbibi OC Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal said Dony died on the spot in the accident while Bipul died when the injured were taken to Joypurhat District Hospital around 10pm.
Hospital Emergency Unit Doctor Mostafizur Rahman said: “Of the injured, tempo passengers Hamidul and Joybor Ali have been sent to Bogra Shaheed Ziaul Rahman Medical College Hospital in a critical condition on Sunday morning.”
Meanwhile, Amir Hossain is being treated at Joypurhat District Hospital.
