Muggers have stabbed a vegetable trader and allegedly snatched Tk1.48 lakh from him at Kawran Bazar in the capital.
Injured Md Ripon was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
He claimed that the muggers snatched Tk1.48 lakh from him.
Police caught one of the muggers.
Tejgaon police station OC Mazharul Islam said vegetable trader Ripon was on his way to Kawran Bazar by a pick-up van when three to four muggers stabbed him on Saturday morning.
"Hearing Rubel's scream when the pick-up van was passing Tejgaon police station, members of police chased the van and managed to catch one of the muggers," said the OC.
Then, the muggers pushed Ripon off the van at Kawran Bazar and fled with the vehicle.
Detained mugger Rubel said they could not snatch the money from the trader, said the police officer.
