Australia set record target of 329 for India

India have to chase down a massive target of 329 runs to get into the final of the ICC World Cup 2015.

Australia have made 328, the highest ever score in the history of World Cup semifinals, in 50 overs losing seven wickets while batting against India in the high-pressure match on Thursday.

Google Doodle marks Independence Day of Bangladesh

World's most-used web search engine Google has created a doodle marking the 45th Independence Day of Bangladesh.

The doodle, portraying a Royal Bengal Tiger inside a red circle with the sun and river, has been seen above the search box on the homepage of Google since early Thursday, March 26.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people of Bangladesh on the eve of the 45th Independence Day.

In his latest tweet, the Indian PM wrote: "Independence Day greetings to the people of Bangladesh, a Nation that has always been an enduring and important friend for India."

PM pays homage to Bangabandhu

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the 45th Independence and National Day. 

On her return from the National Memorial at Savar, she paid the homage to the Father of the Nation by placing a wreath at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the capital on Thursday morning.

Deadly Vietnam scaffold collapse

At least 12 workers have been killed by collapsing scaffolding during a seawall-building project in Vietnam's Ha Tinh province.

More than 20 other people working on the site in the Vung Ang economic zone were injured in the incident late on Wednesday, said officials.

6-year-old boy shot dead by brother

A young teenager shot his two brothers Wednesday during an argument over food, killing one and wounding the other, before fatally shooting himself.

The shooting happened shortly after 6pm in Hudson, Florida, a community in suburban Pasco County about an hour north of downtown Tampa, said Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Saudi Arabia launches Yemen strikes

Saudi Arabia has launched a military operation - including air strikes - in Yemen against Houthi Shia rebels, the Saudi ambassador in the US has said.

Adel al-Jubeir said Saudi Arabia acted to "defend the legitimate government" of President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Report: Pilot locked out of cockpit in Alps Airbus crash

Cockpit voice recordings from the German jet that crashed in the Alps showed one of the pilots left the cockpit and could not get back in before the plane went down, killing everyone onboard, the New York Times reported.

The recordings did not make clear why the pilot left the cockpit or why he could not regain entry as the plane steadily descended toward a mountain range in a remote area of the French Alpine region on Tuesday.
