All the branches of the scheduled banks located in Dhaka and Chittagong metropolitan areas will remain open on Friday and Saturday to facilitate the upcoming city polls.
Bangladesh Bank yesterday issued a circular asking the banks to keep their branches open so candidates could deposit necessary fees.
The banks have also been asked to ensure proper security measures during the banking hour.
The Election Commission has scheduled April 28 for holding the polls to the three city corporations. The deadline for submission of nomination papers is March 29.
