Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities concerned to confiscate the land and property of the culprits involved in destroying land documents by torching the land offices.
She gave the directives while addressing a function on the occasion of the 40th founding anniversary of Islamic Foundation and the National Imam Conference at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Sunday morning, reports BSS.
"I have already asked the intelligence agencies to track down the criminals involved in setting fire to the land offices and I am now giving order to the authorities concerned to confiscate land and property of those culprits," she said.
The premier also said the land and property of those destroying land documents by torching (land) offices will have to be confiscated.
"There won't remain any rights of those culprits on the land and property of their father and grandfather and they won't also be allowed to stay in their locality. We must take stern action against them," she uttered warning.
Her directives came as a huge number of land offices were torched by the criminals in different parts of the country in the last three months amid the hartals and blockades being enforced by the BNP-Jamaat nexus.
