At least six people have been killed and two others injured when a speedy-driven truck ran a CNG-run auto-rickshaw over in the district's Muktagachha upazila on Saturday.
The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
Muktagachha police station OC Kamal Hossain said: “A Tangail bound goods laden truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Bhapki area around 6:30am, leaving a person killed on the spot and seven others critically injured.”
“Of the injured, two succumbed to their injuries at Muktagachha Health Complex while three others died after being shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.”
The truck driver was arrested immediately after the accident, said the OC.
