A university student drowned into Karnaphuli River in Chittagong city’s Bakalia area on Friday morning.
The student is Md Selim, 24, a 1st year student of private BGC Trust University in the city, son of Md Harun, resident of Motijarna area of Lalkhan Bazar, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Rasel of Bakalia police station.
SI Rasel said Selim and his friend went at the bank of Karnaphuli River under Shah Amanat Bridge a tour while the youth drowned at the area due to strong current at around 10:30am.
Being informed divers from Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters in Agrabad recovered the body around 3:00 pm, said the SI
