Customs intelligence officials have arrested a person with 16 gold bars at Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city.
The arrestee is Jahangir Alam, 36, of Satkania upazila in Chittagong. He arrived at the airport on a Air Arabia flight from UAE around 9:55am Friday.
Syed Mukaddesh Hossain, assistant director of Customs intelligence, said: “The gold bars were recovered from his socks. The bars weigh 2kg and the estimated price is Tk90 lakh.”
