Assailants have hacked a man to death at Kashipur village under the sadar upazila in Lakshmipur.
Police recovered the body of Golam Maula, 32, from an Areca nut garden around 10am Friday.
The deceased was a resident of Sobahanpur village in Noakhali and was a tea vendor.
Locals said Golam might have been beaten and hacked to death and dumped in the garden.
Daurapara police investigation centre Incharge Sub-Inspector Jamal Hossain said: “Injury marks have been noticed on his body. The body has been sent to Lakshmipur sadar hospital for autopsy.”
