A three-day conference of Model United Nations Association (MUNA) is going to be kicked off at Chittagong University (CU) on Thursday with an aim to teach the youth about diplomatic relations.
The organisers said this at a press conference on Wednesday at the Chittagong Press Club at around 11:30am.
CUMUNA’s organising secretary Siraj Uddin read out the written statement at the meet.
The programme titled CU Model United Nations Associations (CUMUNA) 2015 has been arranged with the theme “Empowering Youth for Green Diplomacy” at the BBA auditorium of the university.
CU Vice Chancellor Professor Anwarul Azim Arif will be present at the programme as the chief guest.
“A total 240 selected students of colleges and schools of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia and Sri Lanka will take part at the three-day long conference,” said Siraj.
“The young delegates of CUMUNA will be working and presenting their proposals before the conference under five committees where they will draw a draft over international concerned issues including climate change, save the environment movement, human rights and others”, said CUMUNA’s president Shahriar Mottakin.
CU’s pro-VC Professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury and UN Information Centre (UNIC)’s official Mohammed Moniruzzaman will be present at the conference as the special guest and guest of honor respectively.
UNIC and UN Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) are the strategic partners of the conference.
